MNF Recap: Lions and 49ers light up scoreboard in foreboding game for Lions defense

It was the first island game to have almost no meaning to the playoff picture — good job schedule makers! — since Cincinnati-Dallas. That’s not Detroit’s fault, just a quirk of the tiebreaker picture against Minnesota in Week 18.
Through three quarters, what became apparent is that neither defense had more than a key stop here or there in them. There was not a single punt. There were trick plays galore, as Ben Johnson found another touchdown via hook and ladder:
The 49ers finally started to look like they were running out of gas in the second half, and it was Brock Purdy who faltered first. He threw a pick one drive, and left a sideline ball slightly too far inside while under pressure on the next drive, Jauan Jennings couldn’t haul it in:
