Checking in with My Priors
Four weeks have passed, how do I feel about how I felt in late August?

Right before the season I gave you a list of my priors, deciding that I would be “vulnerable” about what my stupid lizard brain thought that was not backed up with statistics or facts. Instead, it was merely a list of gut takes. Were they informed? Sure, to some extent. But it was not a statistically obvious fact that, say, Malik Nabers (to name a win) would do what he did.
One of my big pet peeves about the industry is how there’s little accountability for a writer. Once the take is given, we mostly move on. The only people keeping score are the diehards who morph into obsessed weirdos about one Justin Herbert line you wrote in 2021 or something like that. I am very hard on my own takes, and like to learn from the failures.
So let’s check in with some early takeaways from that group of teams — spoiler: there are big wins and big losses.
Big Wins
4) Deshaun Watson will not be a good quarterback. Again.
8) This will be a historically good rookie wide receiver class in terms of early production.
